Why is the Flexi-Jet so fast?

Fast, very Fast........and that is relative
The intelligent base module linear movement is so accurate (.0003") repeatable that printing in 360 dpi can be used for most all prints jobs avoiding banding that can occurs in less then optimal designs. This machine moves the printer over the product not the other way around for more then one good reason.
1: The variable is whatever the product is your printing that can change in weight and size, not the printer , so the system is tuned to move a fixed weight that avoids banding that can occur regardless of the product weight. So no need to print 720 dpi because 360 dpi shows banding. Try and print a patio stone in one of the competitors products and watch what happens.
2: The system is much more then a garment printer, but excels in this application. The garment inks are actually better then most high end pigment ink sets used in fine art printing. The very nature of what they are intended makes them quite versatile for other substrates. Why settle for a product designed for one thing, with a little imagination the possibilities are endless. Multifunctional devices are good only if it can handle the different tasks equally well. This device will. It can even print on canvas for Giclee quality prints, imagine that.
3: If space is a concern you will be happy to learn that the foot print of this machine is about 1/2 the length of others with similar specs. All the other dedicated garment printers pull the garment into the machine must be 2 times longer then the length of the print, since our unit moves the printer over the product it only needs to be slightly longer then the maximum print length. So our machine is almost 1/2 the size of other products.
4: When printing light delicate products you do not any have concern about moving or shifting the printed item due to the short quick moves introduced from the moving bed type design.
5: This designs allows longer items to be placed under the bed since it's completely open front and back.
6: The intelligent base module is a separate component built to handle heavy loads, yet light incase you want to move the system around. The printer can be removed from the intelligent base by removing the communication cables and 4 bolts.
7: A set of guide rollers are positioned below the print head level that help protect the print head and acts as a reference guide.
8: Many templates can be made for different products that will always stay in correct registration. Because the product is fixed it's very easy to make templates. Try doing this on one of those silly machines that has a conveyor belt used for the Y -Axis. Not a very practical approach considering the application. Years ago I considered the conveyor belt system for about a long as it took me to finish my coffee and realized it's un-practical and prone to potential problems.
9: Since the entire printer moves so do the inks, this naturally helps the pigments stay suspended, it would be the equivalent of you having to remove your ink cartridges every day and slowly shake them. Any Epson owner will know that the manufacturer points out to slowly give your new cartridges a shake before you install them for good reason because pigments do settle over time. With a well designed ink that was intended to be clog free in printers that do not move this only makes it better.
10: The intelligent base module is made from an industrial standpoint using only brushless maintenance free servo motors and stainless steel drive screws. The linear system uses state of the art polymers designed for long life and very smooth motion. |
